A kogatana is a utility knife. It can be used for a multitude of different uses. From small kitchen tasks to opening boxes to leather work and DIY. They are very popular knife and a useful thing to have in your toolkit.
The steel is very hard and very thin so will perform beautifully and keep an edge for a long time as long as it is looked after properly.
Do not put it in the dishwasher. Clean and dry after every use. Non-stainless carbon steel is a fantastic material for knives but it does require a bit more care from your perspective. See the full care guide on the website (coming soon).
The cork strops we sell are the perfect tool for looking after the edges of these knives. I would recommend the chromium oxide pre-loaded strop for this steel.
